Dr. Whitson is a board certified pediatrician, a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics and the owner of Hampton Village Pediatrics. She has been in private practice pediatrics for the past 16 years. Dr Whitson earned her B.A in Psychology from the University of Texas in Austin, Texas. (Go LONGHORNS!) Dr. Whitson earned her medical degree from The University of North Texas Health Science Center in Fort Worth, Texas. She completed the required three year residency at Greenville Memorial Children’s Medical Center in Greenville, SC. After completing pediatric residency, Dr. Whitson was handpicked by Greenville Memorial Children's Hospital along with three other pediatricians to start the first all female pediatric practice in Greenville, SC.
After two years at Carolina Pediatrics Dr. Whitson felt the call to practice in an underserved area to treat children with little to no access to get a medical care from an actual pediatrician. In 2002 she relocated to rural Kentucky and spent the first two of six years as one of only two pediatricians in the area.

Dr Whitson’s practice is privileged to care for families from Bosnia, Vietnam, Thailand, China, Iraq, Iran, Turkey, Syria, Nepal, Nigeria, Ethiopia, and Somalia, to name a few.
